Dubai (July 8, 2020) Women in Dubai are now driving public buses. According to the Gulf Times, for the first time in Dubai's history, three female drivers have been assigned to run the buses. According to the Roads and Transport Authority, since July 3, 2020, three women have been appointed as drivers for buses of three different routes within the city.
Soon more female drivers will be seen driving buses. Currently, these women are responsible for operating buses on routes within the city. Ahmed Hashim Behrouzian, chief executive officer of the Roads and Transport Authority, said the move was the first of its kind in Dubai in the Gulf, after which more women bus driver jobs would be available in the future.
